Zurich for a day

DGK

Recommended Posts

Hello, We will be arriving in Zurich at 10:45 AM and staying at the Avalon recommended hotel Movenpick for one night prior to our cruise in early May departing from Basal. Can you please send me recommendations as to how to spend our day in Zurich considering we will be jet lag and want to crash early. Thank you so much. Your advice is greatly appreciated, DGK:)

Consider the city tour on the trolley departing near central train station. It's about 2.5 hours and hits all the city highlights. And/or the swiss national museum is right next to central station and is a great way to learn about Switzerland and spend a few hours.

Thank you Cap Mike as I think the City Tour sounds like a great idea. Will it be challenging to get to from the hotel ? Do you need to preregister ?

Any specific restaurant for an early moderate price dinner that you would suggest ?:)

We picked up the city trolley tour brochure at our hotel the Wahalla (next to the central train station) and they made a reservation & sold us a ticket after we checked in. The tour started right across the street from our hotel.

Zurich card is a must...transportation and admission for a day. The train from the airport to downtown Zurich is less than 15 minutes. From there you can ride the tram or walk to many sights. I loved the art museum and swiss history museum. A boatride on the lake is also nice...included with the card.
