I have thrown away all my old coupons because of the expiration date. I didn't think it would be nice to try to pass them off as still usable even if they are the same. Plus, the old ones say Diamond and Diamond Plus. The current ones say Diamond Plus and Pinnacle so they look pretty obvious even if no one checks the date. Not to mention...I have enough clutter around here. :p

You know I actually like the Seattles best coffee and I also agree about the coupons...something for everyone

 

We really liked the Seattle's Best coupons when cruising on Monarch and Majesty. Most of our cruises on those ships were pre-diamond event. We used them as our own pre-dinner event and the location on those ships was great for enjoying a cappuccino and watching people go by. I really like the open centrum concept with the large seating area.

I didn't really ask...sort of. "We can use these, too, can't we?" More like a question after a statement. I showed them the coupon before we ordered coffee. If they had said no, we'd have skipped the coffee. So really, we used 3 coupons. The 2 for one dinner and both of our coffee coupons.

 

I'd say they are flexible considering I've had them call me on a later day and ask me if I'd like to eat in the specialty restaurant and still have my coupon honored - 2 for 1. :)

I can't believe that even with fuel this high, that they would begin a fuel surcharge. :eek: There would be so many cancellations of cruises that haven't yet reached final payment that they would have to steeply discount prices to fill the available cabins. That would lower the total booking revenue by way more than they'd stand to lose by NOT adding the fuel surcharge.

 

But I guess that's off topic for this thread, isn't it?

Maybe they will stumble across this post? The perks for booking with the new rewards program are greater moneywise depending on your tier. You can find your discount online or just call RCCL tell them your tier and they will give the cash off figure!:)

We were very pleasantly surprised with the new amenities. We chose a towel rather than wine this time. (One amenity per household.) It's big, nice and soft. And, we had two Diet Cokes in the room plus a very nice cheese-cracker-cookie basket. I remember picking the Cokes but the basket was unexpected. We had a good time on the balcony sipping our Cokes and eating cheese. We were given t-shirts in the casino for the free spins which we brought home and gave to friends. We used coupons for two free pictures, free internet ... can't remember what else. Next time we'll book Chops for the 2 for 1 on the first night. And, the new menu is outstanding. Every single meal was delicious and by far the best food we've ever had on a cruise (although we've never gone hungry!) Lobster was served on the last night rather than formal night. And, flourless chocolate cake is still on the Sampler Plate. It was a really fun cruise with an outstanding, friendly crew.

No system is perfect or completely fair. I think that an objective reading of the reactions to the change indicates far more were pleased than displeased by the results. It may not have worked out in your favor but for many more it seems to have been satisfactory.

C&A did grandfather those that were nearing DIamond status.

My thoughts to your situation however is, you were nowhere near diamond status. When stating you needed two 12-night cruises to get to Diamond that equals 4 cruise credits under the old system. So you were at 6 cruise credits which means you just made Platinum and were not remotely close to Diamond.
