tikkas Posted January 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Hello! We´ve been on the Gem and we´re booked for a cruise on the Jade in June. I was wondering what the differences between the two are. I know they´re the same family, but there must be some differences, or not?
Carnac767 Posted January 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2011 They are almost identical. The Jade doesn't have the weird furniture in the public rooms, and it also doesn't have a rock climbing wall or bowling alley. Where the shopping arcade is on the Gem, the Jade has another lounge. The Jade's shop is aft on deck 7, where the Gem has the Bubbles lounges and bowling alley. Overall, the differences are minor. If you've cruised on one, you'll feel at home on the other. pex Posted January 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2011 I've been on both, and prefer the Gem. It was NCL's flagship until recently (and in my mind, still is), and seemed marginally nicer. The Jade's decor sometimes makes my eyeballs burn. But, yes, they are quite similar.
