Spent the Night in Hamburg?

We're on a Westbound Transatlantic from Hamburg to New York in August and are planning to spend two nights there before the cruise. We've looked at the Hafen Hamburg Hotel, the Empire Riverside and the Movenpick. Any thoughts or helpful advice?

Can't comment on any of your hotels, but I've stayed several times at the Marriott Hotel just off the Gaensemarkt and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is a short walk to the Binnenalster lakefront area, and to the canals coming off of it, and there is a U-bahn station at the Gaensemarkt, and some interesting shopping on the street which wraps around the hotel.

Have you checked out TripAdvisor.com to see what people were saying about those hotels you listed? It might be a bit more help. :)
