heeb Posted January 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2011 I will be traveling in May out of Bayonne NJ to Bermuda on a 7 day cruise and three of those days will be at sea. I need to know from anyone out there what conditions I should expect on the Atlantic for the crossing and the water temperature in Bermuda. Leaving May 8th. We are used to doing the Caribbean which is usually very docile and smooth. Will be glad to hear from all who have taken this cruise before. njhorseman Posted January 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2011 We've cruised from the NY area to Bermuda many times, and in every month from April through October. There's no way to predict whether the ride will be smooth or rough...I'd say our experience has been about an equal number of smooth trips and rough trips. Even without bad weather, the Gulf Stream can cause a choppy ride. Many consider the water in Bermuda to be too cold for swimming prior to Memorial Day.
