Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas: Favorite NON Tourist places -- Or interesting or good places where Locals might also go?

I'll be in in Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas on Tuesday 4/12/05 from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

(Have been here once before, and we did the sightseeing/shopping stuff.)

I'm now on a hunt for:

1. NON Tourist spots -- where Locals might go and yet be also interesting or good to visit for us.

2. Maybe Tourist Spots -- but where a Local feels comfortable enough to be a tourist, too!

Do you have any favorite non-touristy spots you like to go here -- or maybe a spot you like to go where you don't "just" feel like a a tourist?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

:-) The number one tourist spot in the VI is also the number one resident spot - The Beach!!

Hiking on St. John or a day trip to Water Island come to mind as both touristy and local activities.
