synewton Posted January 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2011 We typically sail with Princess but are considering the Carnival Dream because of their kid-friendly activities. My only concern is that the cruise might be very loud - loud music, lots of announcements, etc. Is this a valid concern? Anyone ever notice it, particularly parents of sound-sensitive children? Julienatul Posted January 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Out on deck when the band is playing it gets loud but they have limited the announcements that come into the cabin so only the most important ones come through, most announ cements you have to open the cabin door to hear in the hallway. My kids do fine with the noise, none are overpowering and there is always quieter places to go if needed.

Sonia I have enjoyed my Carnival cruises but to answer your question......yes, it is loud. Between the music, announcements, contests, bingo at the pool, etc, it is a valid concern. cb at sea Posted January 27, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2011 It's not "loud" like a rock concert, but with the wind passing your ears, the ambient noises...the decibel level is high....but it shouldn't affect even a 'sound sensitive" person too much. Not like cannons firing, or anything!
