I was supposed to be on GRR - DTW - BOS - JFK. Got a call from the airline last night with rebooking information as the BOS - JFK flight has been canceled. I certainly appreciate them getting with me ahead of time so I didn't make the journey to the airport.

DFW is at full groundstop for last hour and maybe an hour more. We had a "flashfreeze" with heavy thunderstorms quickly changing to sleet then ice/snow with temps droping 15 degrees in an hour. They could not pre-treat runways because of rain and now are working on the ice. They are saying about an hour before they re-open.

So glad to see this on the local radio station's list of closings.:D

Reddy Ice - Closed - 2/1/2011

Corporate Office Closed Today

LOL!

Good luck to all of those trying to fly out of the midwest today and tomorrow. Most flghts out of Kansas City airport have already been cancelled.

Yep, it's deteriorating rapidly around these parts for sure. I don't like cruising in winter for this reason... stessing about catching flights out of here. This storm is impacting a huge portion of the country.

I'm happy to say for once us her ein MN are not getting the brunt of it. We did get some snow and today the winds are supposed to pick up....UGH

We fly out Sat to San Diego. I too am hoping for clear air and safe travels!

You's better hope that you get out since airport closures (delays) are like dominos. If the plane you are taking is coming from ORD, SEA, or Denver you may have a problem.

Will Rogers is closed in OKC. We have 10-18 inches of snow plus at least 2 inches of ice underneath. The winds are blowing at 50 mph right now. Almost the whole state of Oklahoma is double digits negative degrees. We don't leave for 25 more days so hopefully the weather warms up by then.

There is one important closure down here in the DFW area - The Roof to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington is Closed!!:D At least they can have media day as planned. They showed the caravans of busses with the players earlier on TV with their escorts of police and multiple sand trucks!:)

We barely missed the big ATL hoopla that closed down the airport about 2 days after we flew through on the way to our last cruise. All of this has convinced me that I'm not in a position (with the kids missing extra school, with my and DH's work schedules/vacation days) to be gambling on cruising in January. After trying April, May, November and January...I think we'll be sticking with November.

Who would have thought that I would be here in Dallas on a Tuesday worrying about driving to Galveston on Friday for our Ecstasy cruise on Saturday......but like CruiseCat said we're having some bizarre weather this year.

We have several CC members that we're cruising with this weekend coming from Oklahoma and Kansas.....I wish them safe......

I think sister and I will go down two days early since it's suppose to snow again both here and in Houston on Friday........Casa del Mar.......here we come........

We are driving from Kansas on Saturday for our cruise out of Mobile Monday. I would not want to be driving in this mess at all. The roads are going to be rough until at least Thursday with the sub-zero temps.
