Best Time for Alaska

It depends on what is important to you. Each month has its pros and cons. If you want to increase your odds of seeing wildlife, go late July or August when the salmon are running. Cheaper fares are May and September, but it's colder. More light and less chance of rain rain is May.

In my the best time to go to Alaska is mid-July thru mid-Aug, that is when I have found it drier and and warmer. It is also a time when you are going to find salmon starting to run. However, the weather in Alaska can vary a lot from day to day, week to week and year to year....it is always a crap shoot.
