dereklola Posted February 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2011 Does anyone know whether SS officially allows visitors while ships are in port? We'd like to plan this for a cruise later this year but our TA says she knows of no cruise line that allows this. We have done it a couple of times in the past but both were on a spur-of-the-moment basis and maybe was allowed on a 'personal' basis because the ship was quiet at the time (with almost everyone on shore trips). Travelcat2 Posted February 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2011 Does your TA regularly book luxury cruises? It is odd that they would not know the visitor policy. The policy is on the Silversea website. Generally, you have to submit a form with information about your proposed visitors (passport #, etc.) 45 days prior to the cruise. Your TA can obtain the form from Silversea

You have to submit a request as Travelcat2 says. We dined outside at La Terrazza. There was a charge for our guest's meal, including drinks, of course and he had to leave the ship by 11.00p.m. Tell you guest/s not to forget to bring their Passports on board. Smilie1946 Posted February 4, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2011 Yes 45 days prior to departure if you know in advance thats what you want to do....and you need all details from guests passports.... and you get a letter confirming.... If you are at sea and then decide its normally two days prior and you still need to provide same details...but think you can only have two guests and not 4...depending on how many guests are already booked to come on board by other passengers.... Its $100 for dinner and $60 for lunch charged to your account...:)
