MaryB1 Posted February 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2011 Well done Jennifer. The transatlantic passengers were a diverse group and the best you will ever find. This really made the trip for us. Best wishes to all. Ken and Mary

CanadianKate Posted February 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2011 My first SS cruise was a transatlantic and I got to know the cruise director really well because her cabin was across from mine so we were often walking down the hall together. I was stressed and exhausted because I was trying to "do it all" plus we were eastbound so running on 23 hours days. She pointed out that I was a sea-day person and it would get better when we left North America. She was right. I'm about to embark on my 5th cruise and you can be assured there are tons of sea-days! My last cruise was a 10 day NYC-Montreal and I found myself getting stressed again because we only had 2 sea-days (and one was unscheduled due to weather forcing us to miss a port.) Once again, I was stressed. So this upcoming cruise is 50% sea-days. It will be my first outing on the Spirit so I read your review with interest. chicagogal Posted February 4, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2011 I appreciate you taking time to write these detailed reviews. Sounds like the first 14 days far surpassed the 7 in the Caribbean. I have always thought that the main reason to go to the Caribbean is the weather and it sounds like that wasn't great either. Too bad. Glad you liked the Spirit!
