I just talked to RC and htey said we can only do the excursion when returning from the cruise. Has anyone done this post cruise, I am concerned about our luggage. They said the luggae will be on the bus with us and we will be taken right to the airport. Does this sound right to someone?

Any tour enterprise running from arrangement thru cruise line must take care of luggage it's their responsibility if youy are booking the tour thru them or if you made arrangement with a tour operator outside the ship. What ever deal you had with them with luggage transportation included.

My husband and I went to El Yunque on Sunday after our AOS cruise. We took a taxi from the pier to the National Car Rental building at the airport. We rented a 2005 Toyota Corrola for 37.95 plus $17.95 for insurance for the entire day. Then we drove right out onto the highway and about a half hour east to El Yunque. The drive was easy and beautiful and then we hiked the Britton trail all the way to an observation tower. The hike was challenging but the view was incredible. There was more than enough room for all of the luggage in the trunk and we returned the car later that night after dinner. RCCL charges $30 per person. The freedom we had to take our time and not be herded was well worth it.

Any questions, just ask!

Excerpt from my Constellation 3/5-3/12 review.

Since we had a 5:20 pm flight to Knoxville, we signed up for the El Yunque Rain Forest tour ($30 pp) so that we did not have to worry about our luggage. We met in a designated area at 8:00 and finally disembarked at around 8:20, with about 20 minutes thereafter to get through customs and loading luggage in van that delivered it to the airport. Passengers went in a separate air-conditioned bus. We rode for about 1 hour then stopped at a gift shop for a refreshment and bathroom break then headed on to the park. Air conditioning was off during ascent and it got very warm inside the bus. We stopped for a few minutes to take pictures at La Coca waterfall, then stopped for about 20 minutes for a walk to a pool area and along a short walking trail. The final stop was at Yokahu Tower, which offers a nice view at the top of 98 steps. When dropped at the airport, our luggage was waiting for us in an area just outside the American Airlines entry.

Overall, this was a nice tour; however, it was a full 5 hour tour with almost 4 hours of that riding on the bus through bumpy, rough roads. Last year we opted to leave our luggage at a little jewelry store in town that the ship recommended and walk through the downtown area. Next time that is what we will do.

Is a pitty that lousy Tours from Cruises are compare iqual to every Tour enterprise generalising it as equal. They The Cruises biding for a cheaper price uses the cheapest service non prepare tour quides with out a valid Tour Guide Licence endorse by the tourism Board. There are only a small bunch of well prepare people that have those licenses and they don't get hired.Well is busissness and sometimes stinks giving a bad sensation to the tourism in Puerto Rico visited by tourist that don't know better.By the way Taxi drivers are not Tour Guides a lot of the taxi drivers are from the nearby neighbor the Dominican Republic dont know much about the island.

Best Regards

VanessaC322: You said it was an approx 30 min drive from the airport to the Rain Forest? How long did it take you to hike to the observation tour?

We are arriving the evening before our cruise. On Sat our cruise does not leave until 11 pm. Does anyone know if we could drop our bags at the terminal first thing in the morning without actually checking in on the ship and head to the rainforest? We'd check in after our rain forest tour.
