caribill Posted February 6, 2011 #26 Share Posted February 6, 2011 Regarding the visa: If you have a US passport, then the cost of a single-entry visa, a two-entry visa, a six month multiple entry visa and a 12 month multiple entry visa are the same. When we needed a visa for a cruise last year, we just applied for the 12 month multiple entry visa. That took care of the Princess cruise and also a Chinese river boat cruise we took within the one year period. We live near a city with a Chinese consulate, so we just dropped off our applications and passports there and returned after five business days to pick them up and pay. If you do not live in or near such a city, then you will have to use a visa service. The Chinese visa must be first used within 90 days of issuance, so do not apply too soon. Congrats on your upcoming wedding, your first cruise, and welcome to Cruise Critic.
IECalCruiser Posted February 6, 2011 #27 Share Posted February 6, 2011 Thanks Passin Thru, that's a useful about the voltage sockets in the cabins. I never even thought about that! Andos. /Depending upon what you need to plug in you may block second outlet. We bring an extension cord with multiple outlets to solve the problem. Andos Posted February 6, 2011 Author #30 Share Posted February 6, 2011 Thanx IECalCruiser, Another excellent tip duly noted. We are taking a couple of those International power adapters with us and I guess they're quite bulky. So an extension lead would be perfect. Rgds, Andos.
