Sea lions-snorkel or dive?

I will be in la Paz and can snorkel at a sea lion colony or dive there. I imagine the vis is terrible and snorkeling would be more fun but wanted to see what folks opinions are? Do they I Interact more with you as a diver? Cheers!

I have only snorkeled with them at La Paz since I was not diving when we were there and would like to go back as a diver. The vis didn't appear to be too bad. It was dark at the time of day we were there (mid to late morning) because of shadows from the rocks. They will interact more with a diver than a snorkeler.
