slot or black jack tournaments

When I travelled in 2006, for every entry you bought they gave you a free ticket for a drink. When I travelled in 2008, for every entry you bought they gave you a slip for a percentage off a shore excursion. Do they still do anything like this?

Thanks

I don't know about NCL, but on the last cruises I have been on with HAL & Princess, the payout for the winner of each tournament was $500 & a t-shirt. The second place got a t shirt & champagne and the rest of the finals members got t shirts.

The cash payout is not in line with what you expect from typical casino tournaments. I won a bottle of champagne for 2nd place and the 1st place winner won under $100.

Wow that's remarkably low! was this a slot or BJ tourney? Total paid to the winner depends on how many total entries they get that week. I won the slot tourney once, for about $375. Daughter came in second once, winner got almost $600. Usually 2nd and third get sparkling wine, the rest get tee shirts. Have never won the BJ or poker tourneys, and don't remember how high they were. A moneymaker for NCL for sure, but if I am on a losing streak, it's cheaper for me to take a break and play the tournament than to keep playing lol..

All you get for your entry fee is an entry into the tournament, nothing extra. The winnings amount depends on the number of people who sign up but even so the "house" takes a larger percentage than I expected. I won one of the BJ tournaments on the Sun and it was only $270 (plus champagne and a Tshirt) even though there had been 42 people registered at $20 each. No cash for 2nd or 3rd place, just champagne and Tshirt.

It was great fun though, so worth the entry fee imo.

I came in 2nd in 2009 on the Sun in BJ. Got tshirt and champagne. Winner got a couple hundred. I had a lot of fun and it came down to the last hand.

My mom and I both did slot tourney. Neither made it. Again winner won about $250. Earlier on X Summit my mom won slot tourney and jackpot was $540.

So NCL tourneys like bingo. Not the best payouts. But I still play, just a lot less. On X and Carnival we never missed a bingo session, skipped plenty on NCL.
