Loft/ Suite perks, ask away

Do they have Suite Sun Zone on Oasis ?

I don't remember seeing this area...then again I never saw it on Allure ..even though I was in a suite I never heard/found it. :(

Yes, deck 17 above the solarium. It was very nice, never crowded and no kids. They did check to make sure you had the gold card to be there. D+ were not allowed up there unless they were in a suite.

For my first RCCL cruise I want to get a suite on the Allure. We are a family of 5 any suggestions?

An Aqua Theater Suite. Two bedrooms. One master bedroom with private bathroom. A separate bedroom that will sleep four and also a second bathroom. Plenty of space and a very LARGE balcony.

We had a chance to visit one of the Aqua Suites, wow what a great cabin. More than enough room for 5 and just a wicked big bal. We thought we were staying in a great cabin, but this beat it.

We enjoyed being in the CL, we met some very nice people and every evening we all sat together in a group 8 to 12 people. It was very nice just to sit and chat, and with 5600 people on the ship it was nice to spend time without a crowd. I am in the bar business and I do like to drink. It was our cruise and we spent our time the way we wan't. Just for the record, I saw most of the ship and never went to bed before 1am, so if you think I may have been drunk, think again. The meeting of nice people just was better than going to a show. We did eat our evening meal in the cabin as we could order off the MDR menu. The food always arrived hot and the longest wait we had was 20 mins. I greatly enjoyed being able to eat in the room starring at the ocean. The only bad dish I had was the lobster, than again I'm from Maine so I'm spoiled when it comes to lobster. Breakfast and lunch in the CL was also very nice, never busy and cooked to order, plus free beer and wine at lunch. The suite area on deck 17 was very nice, never crowded and the service from Fabin and Berl was outstanding. Another nice thing was the suite dining area off the Windjammer, 1500 eating at once and we would eat with less than 20, I even had a officer carry my plate and escort me to my table. Did I mention that room service came with a tablecloth. In the Loft you didn't even have to get out of bed to open the curtins as there was a switch next to the bed that controlled them. Also the tv in the bedroom came down from the ceiling, too cool. The living room had a 52" tv with Bose speakers, I loved the sound so much that I bought a Bose system for our house, outstanding sound. Sorry to ramble folks, have a nice day.

Glad you had an enjoyable trip. We also enjoyed meeting with and speaking to folks in the CL.

I guess it depends on the person. We have also cruised in an ATS and a Crown Loft. I will take the Crown loft over the ATS if I did not have kids or extra family along. The only plus IMHO over the CL was the balcony. It was nice but not as nice as the Crown Loft.

Thanks, I will call as soon as summer 2013 comes out to reserve one of these. Do you know if it comes with suite perks? I know it will probably cost a ton but this cruise will be the once in a lifetime cruise, I'm starting to set money aside for it now.

The Aqua Theater suites come with full suite amenities. They go fast so be aware of when RCI is opening up reservations for the time that you want to cruise. I have photos of the Aqua Theater suite in my Oasis photos. The link is below.

Someone above mentioned special seating at the Windjammer. I have not heard of this before. With all the comments about how crowded the WJ is, I had not planned on eating there. I know on some ships, suite guests can sit in Chops or Portofino. Is it like that on Allure?

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the fabulous info. A group of us of us will sail on the Oasis in two weeks in two Crown Loft Suites and the Royal Loft Suite, and I have been scouring the boards especially for word on how well the in-room dining works. We HATE formal nights, but don't like to spoil any one else's ambiance (I do appreciate that for those that really like the glam of formal nights, it can be diminished by folks who choose not to dress up), so we had decided to eat together in the RLS on the two formal nights (the RLS has a dining table that seats 8, so all of us will be able to gather there). I was just worried that it would entail an inordinate delay or ice cold food delivery. Nice to know that will not be the case.

I know that breakfast and lunch are cooked to order (i.e. not buffet) in the Concierge Lounge, but can you recall anything about what the menu is like? Does the lunch menu change daily or is it the same every day?

Also, to the poster that questioned about the separate Windjammer seating for suite guests, my understanding is that on the Oasis, suite guests can take their trays to Izumi, which is adjacent to the Windjammer, and be seated there, though I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Thanks again to the OP for the info -- I am now even more psyched about our cruise of a lifetime.

Whomever the lucky ones are for the Royal Loft will love it. It's huge and the balcony space is great for large groups.

The menu in the CL was the same everyday, but the kitchen they serve out off is the same kitchen that they serve the chefs table from. I'm pretty sure you could order something not on the menu and get it. Dining in the room was very cool. I loved eating while looking at the ocean. We kept the bal door open the whole time we were in the room and even slept on the bal 2 nights. The ac did not go off with the bal door open. The loft has 2 zones of ac, one up and one down. Enjoy your cruise, do you have room for 1 more?

Well I did it...I upgraded to a GS and am very excited...now I just have to wait to go!

Cruisingator...thank you for all the amazing pictures. That Royal Loft Suite is gorgeous! I don't think I could tear my husband away from the piano. Maybe one day....even if it is just the two of us...however, I'm thinking we could make some friends pretty quickly if we invited them to dine on the balcony one night;)

Thanks. Actually you can turn the piano on and let it do the playing for you.:)

  • 2 weeks later...

ISLAHOPPER - you stated the private Suite Zone does not allow in D+....

I was on oasis twice and anyone with a gold card was allowed in...Goldcards are only given to GS and above and all D+ regardless of their cabin...

did you mean that Diamond are not allowed in or is this D+ you refer to something they changed? They had a sign at the entrance specifically stating "gold sea pass card only"...which does include D+ as they are gold card no matter what cabin

Just wondering if something is different on Allure

BTW...for those interested...this area was nearly empty everyday on both my Oasis cruises except for the last day when all the sudden it seemed to fill up..we loved it and used it everyday
