JJPacer Posted February 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2011 Could you be more specific about what the "National Island Tour" includes? Then we would be better able to answer your question. It's a beautiful island. One of 2 (Bonaire being the second) that we would consider visitng on our own for at least a week or more.
Netty Posted February 9, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted February 9, 2011 Departing via tour boat to St John on the " Emeral of the Caribean" you'll arrive in the town of Cruz Bay,where you'll board a safari bus for a scenic drive you will stop cinnamom Bay,Trunk Bay,hawksnest Bay.The tour concludes for some shopping in Cruz Bay.This is 4 hour tour it leaves at 11:00. Krazy Kruizers Posted February 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2011 Just a thought here. Considering that your ship will be docked at Crown -- it is quite a ride to Red Hook -- is that where you will be boarding the ferry to go to St John? If so -- a 4 hour excursipon from Crown Bay to Red Hook then a ferry to St John -- and you have to allow time to get back to the ship -- doesn't leave much time for St John. JJPacer Posted February 9, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 9, 2011 Do they allow you to spend time at each beach? It would be a good tour if you can spend time at each beach. If you simply drive by or look at them from afar, you would probably be disappointed. These beaches are all pretty close to Cruz Bay, so travel time on the island would be minimal. It is roughly an hour by boat each way to St. John. So, check on how much time you are allowed at each beach, and you should enjoy the excursion very much. lazey1 Posted February 9, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 9, 2011 We took this HAL tour several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are not beach people and enjoy looking at the scenery.
