Plaza Las Americas Shopping Center

Thinking of taking a taxi to this shopping center. Can anybody tell me if they have done this and is it worth the taxi fare? It looks like a nice shopping center.

Also how long time wise to get there?

I've been there many times. It is huge. It is also one of the nicest malls I have every been in. The high end stores are fantastic. Where are you staying? It is only about 10-20 minutes from Isla Verde or Condado by cab. It is something to do on a rainy day.

On one side across the street they have a large K Mart. Which has a large amount of items from clothing to dive cameras which might be needed for the cruise also a good amount of snacks. Also luggage to replace that the Airlines ruin:):mad:. Also laundery supplies small pkg. of soap, solfer, and what not.

As for the Mall it's loaded Plan a full day to see all of it.

We have been to Old San Juan many times and have done most of the tourist things. As we are arriving later in the day, we thought maybe we would do some shopping and have dinner before returning to the ship. And if it is a rainy day, no worries about outdoor plans. Do you know how long it would take by taxi from the cruise port?

Really depends on traffic. Coming out of San Juan at rush hour is brutal. If you did it before that, only 20 minutes or so from the Pan Am pier.

We are docked 1pm to 11pm so we have time to avoid the "rush" hours. Thanks for the info and enjoy the Serenade later this month.

I agree, it's a great mall. It was $18 from Miramar so perhaps a dollar or two more from OSJ. It took somewhat less than 20 minutes in "light" traffic, not that the traffic is ever light in San Juan.

We'll be staying in Isla Verde, read that we can catch a bus. Does anyone know length of time via public bus?
