GEORGET Posted February 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Brilliance Repo April port of call changes. I can understand the problems in EYGPT but has RCCL notified travellers that there will be now 9 continual days at sea. I was looking to book this cruise and the old itinary is still on TA's SITES. Was especially looking forward to Petra and the pyramids the main ports to see on this cruise. i can understand the safety issue, re Alex, but Jordon and Sharm are still Ok, you can still book holidays there now. Cruise Was Dubai, Muscat, 5day at sea, Safaga,Aqaba,Sharmel Sheik,at sea(Suez), 2 days Alex, 3day at sea. Now Dubai, Abu Dhabi,Fujairah, Muscat,9 days at sea,Rome, Liverno, 1 day at sea. Is it me or even the best ship in the world, 9 days together is a bit to much. Casino open 1pm till 1am 9 days alone would cost a fortune plus eating through boredom would expand my waist line. Jem 12 Posted February 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Hi GeorgeT We booked this cruise before the changes and have the same concerns we are now at sea for an additional sea day plus as you stated at sea for 9 days straight, We have got the option to cancel until tomorrow, so we are desperately trying to decide. I understand completely the need for changes but just wish that the two new italian Ports were not ones we have visited many times. I recommend the trip to Cinque terre for anyone who has already done the Florence Pisa trips before. Rccl unlike Azamara are not offering any incentive to stay with this cruise, Azamara are apparently offering $1000 dollars even though their only change is instead of a 1 day in Alexandria, they are now having a day in Santorini. I'm sure if we decide to go we will still have a lovely time, if RCCL make sure that the entertainment is varied enough for 9 days. Good Luck with whatever you decide. Alan13 Posted February 15, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2011 I did this cruise last January, 2010 with stops at Alexandria, Safaga and Jordan(Petra) so we had 11 sea days out of a 14 day cruise. I enjoyed the ports but it was too many sea days for me. 9 consecutive sea days is too much and not worth the cost of the cruise and the cost of traveling to Dubai. cb at sea Posted February 15, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 15, 2011 I think 9 days without a stop is about 7 days too long!
heatherb1958 Posted February 17, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2011 We should have done this cruise last year but had to cancel due to the flight situation with the volcanic ash crisis. Friends who cancelled with us last year did rebook for this year and I got an e.mail from them today to say they have now cancelled this year's cruise. It is definitely not mean to be for them. I am so glad we had the chance to do the BCN to Dubai repo in Jan 2010 as it was a fabulous cruise. Looks like there will be some fantastic bargains on the revised itinerary but we are already just getting back from the Liberty eastbound Transatlantic and going to Crete on 8th May, just can't possibly fit it in:D
