Vendors on PV pier for whale watching excursions?

We are looking at maybe taking a 2-3 hour whale watching tour in PV. The HAL ship excursions and local tour operators I've seen mentioned here on CC all seem to be around 6 hour whale watching plus snorkeling or going to a beach type excursions. Are there local vendors near the ship dock that are available for walkup whale watching excursions? Other tours?

I didn't notice any in December. Most of the serious trips are usually booked early and go out early to catch the best time for whale watching. Puerto Vallarta Tours is located in the cruise ship dock area and might have some openings but again most trips are 4 hrs or more. The cruise ship dock area is huge though.

Most tours last about 4-5 hours and some of them only sail in the morning.

In the afternoon sometimes the waves are higher and it is a bit more difficult to see the whales.

Better prebook as the choice is limited.
