Anybody, please, tell me how to get the Princess pier in vancouver from the airport? and how long will it take? by shuttle or taxi? how much is it?

Skytrain (subway). From YVR to "Waterfront Station". Exit using the "Granville St exit" (right on the platform), walk one block on W.Hastings, two on Howe and you're at the terminal.

 

$8.75/ea from airport to downtown; cheaper if you buy a book of 10 tickets ($31.50) in advance at the airport 7-11 or Pharmasave

The Skytrain is the cheapest way but if you don't want to have to schlep your luggage for a few blocks take a cab - about $35.

There is also the option of the new Aerocar Shuttle but is does take an hour and 6 mins to get to the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel which is across the street from Canada Place but at a cost of $15.50 pp I would stick with the cab idea.

Taxi: 30-40 minutes

Subway: 24 minutes

Travel time on subway (Canada Line) is 24 mins to which you need to add walking time from Canada Place to Waterfront Station, wait time for train, walk time from YVR station to terminal...allow another 10 mins as a minimum. The real savings is the money not in time.

Walk Time from YVR to terminal? If you're arriving on international, you cross the street; it adds at least 30 seconds

and then wait for a train....unless you have it down to a science. I would still allow 10 extra minutes over and above the 24 mins...and frankly a little bit more.

vancouver traffic can be a bear..so a cab means less humping bags but the train is more likely to be on time

May I add a question to this post? We will be leaving our hotel (Blue Horizon) for an 8am plane departure. What will the traffic be like at that time? Should we leave at 5:30am? Thank you.

Ar that time of the morning the traffic will be very light. AS I assume you will be an international flight than you need to check in 2 hours before your flight to allow time for security & customs

for 2 hour window leaving at 5:30 with a 30 minute drive puts you right on time...me being me would have to leave a half hour earlier

If you are going via taxi your travel time will likely be in the 20/25 min range if you have a rental car allow an extra 15 mins to turn it in. At that hour of the morning you will be well ahead of the arriving cruise ship crowd and should clear customs and security in record time. Once inside the secure area of YVR you will find several places to have breakfast.
