What is your budget and what time of year are you coming? In August $150 will get you a nice moderate Midtown hotel. In October, that same hotel is $400 per night. michigan tim Posted February 18, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted February 18, 2011 I get a travel professional rate at Marriot brands, last time there we stayed at a Renasiance in Time Square. Are there hotels near the terminal? What about transportation? Thanks
138east Posted February 19, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2011 Doesn't sound like staying in Manhattan for sightseeing is a priority for you. I would advise checking out the Brooklyn Marriott as one possibility. Another option that might be cost effective (even without a Marriott corporate discount) is Hampton Inn or Hilton Gardens on Staten Island - Amtrak to Newark Airport, hotel shuttle to Staten Island and car service (Village Car Service) to Brooklyn. Hotels are next door to one another in a wooded corporate park setting where you won't feel like you are in NYC (but you actually are).
