We are coming into Stockholm 3 days early in July and we wonder what hotels would be good, and reasonable ($200) in the Gamla Stan, and also

what is the procedure for taking a bus from the aiprot to town to the Gamla Stan..thank you, Sherry & Kimber

Gamla Stan itself is quite small (1/3 mile in diameter) so there are not many hotel options there. Consider the area north and south of Gamla Stan as well.

 

You could for example visit http://www.ebookers.com/

enter "Stockholm" and "date" and click "GO" . Then "sort by distance" and you will get a lot of descriptions, pictures and reviews of hotels sorted according to the distance counted from a center point, that in this case seems to be about half a mile north of Gamla Stan.

 

Regarding the busses from Airport they will take you to the Central Railway Station, half a mile NW of gamla Stan.

Also check out the site http://www.booking.com for good hotels in Stockholm. I have booked hotels thru that site several times and I like it. /Chris58

Reisen is nice, try to get one of the rooms with the windows looking out over the water.
