Carnival Liberty Deck 6 - Too noisy?! Please help!

My parents, my sister and her husband just booked a cruise on Carnival Liberty for September 3rd, 2011. The rooms they were given were 6451 and 6459, repectively. Upon reviewing the ship, and specifically deck 6 aft, we saw quite a few complaints about the aft rooms being noisy because they are near the disco and casino.

Has anyone had any of these two rooms before? Can you tell me if they were indeed too noisy? Uncomfortable? Were you able to sleep? Please help! Thank you!

I would change the cabins. You don't want to be above a Piano Bar! Try and book a cabin that is sandwiched in between 2 cabin decks. Deck 7 on this ship is "prime real estate"! :)

There are many deck 6 cabins that are just fine. But if you are over the main theater, piano bar, or dance club, be ready for it to be loud at times, even later into the night. When we have had deck 6 rooms we always make sure they are over the fun shops, crew area, etc, to make sure they won't be loud.

caljencruisers,

6451 is above the hallway outside of the entrance to the piano bar. It should get less noise than cabins directly above the piano bar. 6459 is above the hallway outside of the aft entrance to the piano bar and above the entrance to the aft lounge which is now a comedy club. When the comedy club has a band, that area would be noisy. Of the two, I would choose 6451. Neither room will get any noise from the casino nor the disco; they are both a good distance away.

I'd also avoid over the sports bar in football season! We had 6288 on the Valor and heard every cheer and the TVs pretty clearly during all the college finals games. Also heard some elevator noise and music from the atrium. Walking aft near the disco at night I felt really bad for the people in those rooms - the thumping bass was pretty bad in the hallways back there.

angel2wyld2,

I overlay the deck plans for decks above and below. As long as you match up the elevators on the deck plans you can be confident you have them overlayed properly. Don't count on the front or aft of the ship as a guide when overlaying decks because the front and rear is sloped thus it won't accurately match up.

CLICK HERE for Carnival Freedom's deck plans on their TA site. Cruisedeckplans dot com also has an overlay feature for deckplans. This link may or may not work if you are not a member, but CLICK HERE and find out.
