cruisercrazy69 Posted February 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2011 I'm diabetic can I get fresh fruit if i don't like the sugar free dessert?
dockrocker Posted February 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2011 It seems to vary. Most nights you should be fine -- I would consider asking at the start of your meal to give your server a little extra time to take care of it.
yoyocruiser Posted February 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2011 I can't remember exactly either, but in general it seemed that there was loads of fresh fruit all over the ship. There is always fruit in the buffet I know. But in general, I have never seen as many sugar free deserts as they have on NCL cruises. Not sure if you'll like them--but they have a lot of variety both in the MDR and the buffet line--so you can certainly have fun trying them out. The chocolate buffet seemed to be about half sugar free. A lot of the sugar free deserts seem t o be pudding type of things, some pies. I think you'll be pleased. :)
MagnoliaBlossom Posted February 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2011 I have asked them for special items not on the menu and never had them decline my request (not anything difficult). Often times they have additional sugar free ice creams or sherbets that are not on the menu. Our witer told us one night that they onyhave a liited supply of the SF items so they don't always put them on the menu, but they are there. If your calories will allow it, there is always a cheese plate for desert for dessert too if that is to your liking.
njhorseman Posted February 23, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2011 My wife requests a fruit plate almost every night in the MDRs. She never has had to request it in advance. The contents can vary a bit from night to night. She sometimes orders sugar free ice cream, and again has never had a problem getting it.

JimSS Posted February 24, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 24, 2011 My DW and I just completed B2B on the EPIC and had a fruit plate virtually night for dessert. As an added touch we usually split a cheese plate (the blue cheese was incredible).
Shollow Posted February 24, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 24, 2011 My aunt is diabetic and would just ask for a sugar free dessert and was never disappointed. Most of the sugar free desserts had fruit of some sort in them. There was always fruit available, too.
