e.durban Posted March 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2005 Thanks, Randy. A point of view we don't get often... Great link.
dalwhitt Posted March 6, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2005 Obviously some of those on Pride of Aloha failed a few of those courses ... or used the Cliff notes notes instead.
Globaliser Posted March 6, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2005 Thanks, Randy. A point of view we don't get often... Great link.Advertising is often used to put over a point of view that isn't obvious to those looking at the whole picture. Anyway, whether or not the service on Pride of Aloha is now up to scratch, there are two big questions left:- Will all the teething problems just all come flooding back on Pride of America? How long can NCL and Star stand the losses being made by the US-flag operation as a consequence of its present horrendous staffing costs?

How long can NCL and Star stand the losses being made by the US-flag operation as a consequence of its present horrendous staffing costs? Two good questions - no line has lasted long under this model. Time will tell. The POAM has not had much luck from day one in Alabama. This ship in my view is ugly. Taking an old hull and trying to leverage NCL new design created this Hybrid ship. Most don't realize it is only 72,000 Tons - smaller then the Sun and 20,000 Tons smaller then the new ships - Star, Dawn, Jewel and even the proposed POHi. livermorenancy Posted March 8, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2005 The Pride of America is 81,000 tons. (Unless they changed it again).
shoreguy Posted March 8, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 8, 2005 The Pride of America is 81,000 tons. (Unless they changed it again). You may be right. I went back to ship facts on NCL.com and the tonnage is missing again. I pulled those numbers from the site yesterday.
