Any Smokers On Previous Valor Cruise

They were probably non-smokers and took the language in the Capers literally to also include staterooms. Just off the Valor and on the last page of every Carnival Capers, it says:

"Carnival Valor is Non-smoking except for...

Casino, Casino Bar, Paris Hot, Lindy Hop, One Small Step Dance Club, Winston's Cigar Bar, Deck 9 Main Pool area midship, starboard side and Deck 9 aft by the bar only when Skydome is OPEN, Lobby Deck 3 starboard side (right side, outside balcony deck). Also Panorama Deck 10 is smoking."

The words in all CAPS are in all caps in the Capers. The first line is in bold but I don't know how to do that on here. If a non-smoker took it literally, they could assume that staterooms were included in the non-smoking areas because they are not listed above.

I am a smoker and think they are going overboard with the non-smoking areas. We were dining on Deck 3 aft. To have a cigarette before dinner or before dessert, I had to go up to Deck 4 to Winston's Cigar Bar. Did NOT make me happy (but the cigar bar is the most beautifully decorated room on the ship, in my opinion, and I don't smoke cigars). Every year, it seems to get worse. I suggested (to Carnival) that one dining room be smoking and one be non-smoking - they said it wouldn't work.

I think Carnival is very liberal with their smoking policy. In Connecticut there is no smoking in restaurants, bars, any public buildings. We go outside to smoke. You do get used to it but still would like to smoke in the bar.;)

I personally think they go overboard with the non-smoking areas. They tried a non-smoking ship and it didn't work - they couldn't keep it filled so it is no longer a completely non-smoking ship. And you can't smoke anywhere in Florida either except in bars that don't serve food.

Kinda funny, we don't smoke in our house, but do smoke in our cabin on a ship.

I'm just the opposite. I smoke in my house (with the exception of the living room and the kid's rooms), but I don't smoke in my cabin - only on the balcony.

I think the best solution to the smoking problem is having "smoking" ships and allow smoking everywhere and "no smoking" ships and not allow smoking period. Never happen of course.

If they ever bring another non-smoking ship back, like the Paradise, I will be on her.

Reminds me when I started cruising, and was still smoking, that you could smoke in the starboard side of the dining room, as well as the starboard side of the lounge.

I'm glad I quit smoking when I did, cause I would NOT have liked all this walking just to enjoy a smoke, although I'm sure it would have helped to keep this 20lbs I've put on since I quit 15 years ago (I thought $16 for a carton of cigarettes was just too outrageous).

I think that if Carnival set the Paradise up in different ports each year the Paradise could have made it. But how can you keep offering the same product year after year... people get tired of the same ole same. Paradise lost a great deal of money for Carnival. Mexico Bob- dont hold your breath waiting for a non smoking ship- I dont think it will ever happen again
