Listed Port Arrival Times

Recommended Posts

I am sure its has been covered.

The times listed by Carnival for the ports of call, are they listing local times? Or does the ship stay on the time zone it left from? I am leaving from Miami.

Says arrival in Cozumel at 8 but I don't know if thats local time or what? Same for Grand Cayman, says arrival at 7:30

Edited to add

Looks like Grand Cayman time is the same here and there are no adjustments for 2011

Cozumel DST changes April 3rd (just a heads up for anyone traveling there)

I've never been told to change my watch when sailing out of Miami. The ship will stay on Miami time even though Coz is a different time.

The Fun Times will always tell you and they will make announcements if you need to change your watch. If you are trying to set up private shore excursions just make them for "upon ships arrival" the tour operators are quite adaptable.

Remember in Grand Cayman that Carnival excursions have priority tendering.

Edit: I had my first info slightly wrong.

On my April '09 cruise out of Miami the following happened:

Sat, April 11 - Boarding

Sun, April 12, At Sea - told to move clocks BACK one hour at bedtime

Mon, April 13, Cozumel

Tue, April 14, At Sea

Wed, April 15, Grand Cayman

Thu, April 16, Ocho Rios - told to move clocks FORWARD one hour at bedtime

Fri, April 17, At Sea

Sat, April 18, Debark

Must have been DST related.

I just checked the port in Cozumel. It shows the Liberty arriving the same time as my itinerary. I am guessing times are listed as local times from Carnival on my confirmation e-mail.

Ship time appears to be local time then. Well for Carnival Liberty at least.
