mcwebber Posted March 9, 2011 #26 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Forget about it. It's a dead issue. When did that ever stop a thread on CC? Don't let facts get in the way of a good argument. I think I heard that on Fox.
fdwt994 Posted March 9, 2011 #27 Share Posted March 9, 2011 I am from NY and know good pizza. For good pizza would pay an extra 5 bucks in general. For the stuff that the cruise lines pass off as pizza would not pay at all. However garlic bread and caesar salad is excellent. As a former New Yorker, I say, AMEN. :)
BeccaBecca1713 Posted March 9, 2011 #28 Share Posted March 9, 2011 As a former New Yorker, I say, AMEN. :) I'm not even a New Yorker and I say AMEN too!:D (As a side note, we have TONS of former New Yorkers down here in NC, so we have numerous authentic pizzerias). I'll take a frozen pizza over Carnival pizza anyday.
mcwebber Posted March 9, 2011 #29 Share Posted March 9, 2011 As a former New Yorker, I say, AMEN. :) New Yorkers are experts on pizza because with the cost of living there, that's the only food they can afford.
golfadj Posted March 9, 2011 #30 Share Posted March 9, 2011 New Yorkers are experts on pizza because with the cost of living there, that's the only food they can afford. As a former NYer will say that we are experts on pizza due to the huge number of great pizza shops in the city. If they did not make good pizza could not stay in business. Amazes me how pizza hut can stay in business.

JimA49085 Posted March 9, 2011 #32 Share Posted March 9, 2011 I just loves the rumors........... I heard that they will be charging you electricity rates based upon what you use during your cruise.... Never gets boring around here. That is not fair: I need the electricity for my fan so I can sleep.
*Mach* Posted March 9, 2011 #33 Share Posted March 9, 2011 That is not fair: I need the electricity for my fan so I can sleep. I certainly hope that was in jest as the post you responded to was. Carnival is NOT charging for electricity!!!

PictureChris Posted March 9, 2011 #35 Share Posted March 9, 2011 I would pay $5 to get a pizza made by Princess Cruises on Carnival. Princess is the best at sea, Carnival a distant 2nd and Royals is the worst pizza ever. I got better pizza in grade school than what royal served on the Monarch and Majesty. golfb4cruzing Posted March 9, 2011 #36 Share Posted March 9, 2011 As an ex NYer and a past owner of a pizzeria, it's either homemade dough, real mozz and a stone oven or nothing at all. I am a pizza snob.

Carnival's is okay, but certainly not equivalent to regular pizzeria pizza.
Celebrating40 Posted March 9, 2011 #42 Share Posted March 9, 2011 I'm sure some people would pay for it. Personally i will walk to the pizza station and pick mine up. I will also pick yours up for $3.00 delivery if you are on same deck as i am...:) I was thinking exactly the same thing...I would go as low as $2.50 on the same deck and $3.00 if I have to travel within one deck above or below. I might just hang little tags outside people's cabins on my next cruise for them to place orders. I guarantee my bar tab at least gets paid. MagSeven1413 Posted March 9, 2011 #43 Share Posted March 9, 2011 We were on the Royal Princess last year and they delivered whole pizzas to the room for a $3 fee added to your onboard account. We had been ashore all day and didn't feel like cleaning up for dinner so the whole pizza was a great option. (We even ordered 2 plates of real potato chips - for some reason we both were craving potato chips, and not the Pringles in the gift shop) Out on the balcony with our pizza, chips and beer was wonderful. (Although the aroma of the pizza disturbed our neighbors. ;))
PA Dutchman Posted March 9, 2011 #44 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Did you hear that ? It was the sound of a troll posting to John Heald thatCC is saying pizza is now $5 ( $10 with anchovies) and they are never going to cruise Carnival again. Heald will then say he loves CC but we are all idiots and no ,there will be no delivery charges. or are I being a tad cynical? Hope he does because he would be right. waldocruiser1 Posted March 9, 2011 #45 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Heard a rumor recently on the Carnival Glory Bloggers Cruise last week that Carnival is looking into charging for pizza delivery to your stateroom at $5.00 per whole pizza. Would you be prepared to pay this charge? Thoughts? Comments? That would be WAY OVER THE TOP, the pizza is BAD, and to have to pay to get it would make me never have it. (I Know only to deliver to state room) I would pay $5.00 for a pizza if it was a name brand chain.
waldocruiser1 Posted March 9, 2011 #46 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Didn't know you could do this. After a night of drinking and donating to the casino, I might see ordering a pizza and sitting on the balcony with family to cap off the night!!! ($5 I would gladly pay) Now here is an idea, when playing BlackJack or Craps, or on a slot machine, call and order a pizza and have it delivered, now that might be worth it, or maybe just order a BLT and have it delivered. Actually, my cruise on the Liberty in Aug did that! They were walking around with trays of small slices of pizza/napkins at the slot machines! I am with you, and now that I know I can get a pizza delivered to my room, I most likely will and would glady pay $ 5.00. :D And just a note, I really liked the pizza on the Fascination, last time I cruised.
