frostwalker Posted March 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2011 We are sailing on Millenium in May for 7 days and have chosen 8:30 dining, but now I'm a little worried we may not always want to dine that late. Is this time totally set in stone? Anybody ever ask to change the time once or twice during a sailing? Or should we just forego the MDR on those nights and eat at one of the buffet options? Gonzo70 Posted March 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2011 You can't really switch back & forth. If you do not want to eat that late on certain nights there are options; you can do the specialty restaurant (where you make a reservation; surcharge applies), do the buffet, or do room service. PartyAllDaTyme Posted March 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2011 If you choose the late seating and then occasionally opt for other venues (buffet, specialty restaurant, room serivce), you should send word to the maitre d' so they don't wait on you to show up in the MDR. Thanks! But how do I send word? Through our butler?
Gonzo70 Posted March 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2011 If you know the evening before, just tell your waiter at dinner that night that you will not be dining in the MDR the next evening. If you do not know until day of, you can ask your butler to pass the information on, or just stop by the MDR and inform someone there you will be dining elsewhere that night. While it is not required to do this, it is appreciated by the staff.
PartyAllDaTyme Posted March 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2011 You can call the MDR from your cabin-- the number will be listed. Or you could stop by the MDR earlier in the day.
frostwalker Posted March 9, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Cool! I like being polite and letting people know. Nice to know it will be so easy to do so! :)
