RadioBroadcaster Posted March 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2011 Can some one please be kind enough to help me with transfer information?:) 1. Transfer from airport to Pan Pacific Hotel? 2. Transfer from Pan Pacific to Island Princess Cruise Ship? Best to take a taxi? Or is there a better option? (Travel agency does not book this if you are only staying 1 night in Vancouver...sigh)
aohkay Posted March 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2011 There are 2 cruise ship terminals in Vancouver. I assume you will be embarking at Canada Place, but just want to confirm first.
6rugrats Posted March 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2011 I am surprised that your TA could not provide you with this very basic information. Have you read this on the Pan Pacific hotel's webpage - Canada Line YVR to Pan Pacific Vancouver Take the Canada Line to Waterfront Station. The hotel is at Canada Place, one block from the station towards the harbour. The Canada Line is Vancouver’s new rapid transit rail link connecting YVR to downtown Vancouver in 26 minutes and to downtown Richmond in 18 minutes. It’s a fast and easy way to travel to Vancouver’s city centre. You can conveniently access trains from both the International and Domestic Terminals. Canada Line’s YVR-Airport station is centrally located between our International and Domestic Terminals. As you exit the train, turn left for domestic flights or right for U.S. and international flights. Have any questions? Look for our Green Coat volunteers who can help point you in the right direction. Directions to Canada Line for passengers flying into YVR from within Canada. If you’re picking up checked bags, you are at Arrivals, level 2 of the Domestic Terminal. Go to Level 3, and walk toward the Link Building (located in between the International and Domestic Terminal). Follow the signs marked Canada Line or ask any of our Customer Care staff in red or green vests for assistance. Directions for American and International Travelers Once through the customs and immigration arrivals process, walk toward the exit to our International Arrivals Greeting Area. Exit the building following signs marked Canada Line. Before the parkade entrance, an escalator and elevator will take you up to the Canada Line platform. Frequently Asked Questions 1. Do you have a shuttle service? We do not have a shuttle service to / from YVR Airport 2. Are there taxis readily available at the hotel and airport? The Pan Pacific Vancouver actually has the largest taxi hub in downtown Vancouver. Taxis are readily available throughout the day at the hotel and the Vancouver Airport. A taxi from to/from the airport is approximately $ 35.00 CAD (depending on traffic). The taxis take Canadian and U.S funds, and credit cards for payment. If your cruise is leaving from Canada Place, you don't need transportion; this hotel is right on top of the cruise ship terminal. If you are leaving from Ballantyne Pier, it's only about a 5-10 minute taxi ride away; the hotel can hail you a cab.

Putterdude Posted March 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2011 You have a couple of options to get from YVR to the Pan Pacific. You can take a limo at a cost of $52 plus 12% tax and gratuity You can take a cab at a cost of about $35 You can take the AeroCar shuttle...a bit slow as it stops at a number of downtown hotel. If you care to schlep your own luggage you can take the new Canada Line from YVR to Waterfront Station at a cost of $8.75 (CDN) pp. Waterfront Station is about 2.5 blocks from the Pan Pacific, the cars were built to handle luggage and the total time from YVR to hotel will take about 35 mins. As the Pan Pacific forms part of Canada Place, you are right there, in fact the bellmen will take your luggage down for you in the morning at transfer it to the porters at the pier.
