Rare TLCOhio Posted March 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2011 We are looking recommendations of what to do in these ports and do we need guides? Mytilini - Patmos & Mylos Don't know about Mytilini, not having been there. BUT, have been to both Patmos and Mylos. Both are interesting, very different and offers some good options to consider. It is not so much about needing guides, but solving certain of the logistical questions. Some pictures below give a little preview. Patmos is all about history, religion, culture, etc. Milos has unique land- and sea-scapes. Milos is an island that is rich in minerals that produces a special white, very fine, sand-like material. As Figure correctly details, you need to get up that large mountainside to where the various treasures are located. Since it is a fairly small island, your public transportation options are a little limited and can be impacted by how many ships are in port that day. Ship excursion are not always the best, but they do get you covered on these logistics, provide guides who can explain what you are seeing, answer questions, etc. THANKS! Enjoy!
