Jimmanknows Posted March 14, 2011 Author #26 Share Posted March 14, 2011 Thanks everyone for the comments. My DW & I really enjoyed our experience at the Chef's Table. My desire in this review was to show everyone how great it was and that it truly is worth every penny. We can't wait to do it on the Freedom this October. :D

enveno1 Posted March 14, 2011 #28 Share Posted March 14, 2011 Thank you for the great pics. I sent off our email last night and am now awaiting a reply. I requested seating for 7. I am super excited. The food looks DELICIOUS!!! If your ship has a steakhouse, many people are sending direct emails to them for reservations for the chef's table and are getting a response within an hour up to 48 hrs. So we shall see! We are sailing the Valor in July.
nevadabadgirl Posted March 14, 2011 #29 Share Posted March 14, 2011 Thank you so much for the pictures! My son and I had already decided to do this on our May sailing of the Paradise, but this just drives it home that we made the right decision. Man now I really can't wait, as I wipe the drool from my chin. Gotta love food porn!
enveno1 Posted March 14, 2011 #30 Share Posted March 14, 2011 Just an update. Like I said, I emailed the Valor steakhouse requesting chef table reservations and received a confirmation email in a little over 10 hours.
Jimmanknows Posted March 15, 2011 Author #31 Share Posted March 15, 2011 Since there is no Specialty Restaurant on Paradise or any of the other Fantasy Class ships, I would suggest going through John Hearld's Blog, follow this link and scroll down a little ways for instructions http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1377796&highlight=chef+s+table
BobbyD Posted March 29, 2011 #32 Share Posted March 29, 2011 When we cruise, we always eat in the MDR for dinners. We never pay the extra to eat in the specialty restaurants, as we enjoy the "free" food just fine. BUT, for our Med cruise on the Magic in May, we will definitely take advantage of the Chef's Table!!! We will have 4 of us, DW and myself celebrating our 25th anniversary on the cruise and our 2 sons, celebrating their recent college graduation (and hopefully employment). I know you cannot make reservations in advance (correct?) so what is the process of making reservations? I am sure it will be an experience to remember! Thanks. MagnoliaFly Posted March 29, 2011 #33 Share Posted March 29, 2011 It is interesting to see the slight differences between Chef Table menus on different ships! Looks really yummy on the Paradise too! I loved our experience and I encourage everyone that can to do it again.

You can make reservations ahead of time. Emailing the steakhouse for chef's table reservations is the easiest and quickest way. Just confirm ship name, sail date, passenger name, cabin and/or booking #. The email address for the miracle is misteakhouse@carnival.com or you can contact John Heald on his blog or wait until boarding. I emailed the Valor steakhouse and received chef's table confirmation within 10 hours. Good luck!

My DH and I will be on the Paradise in August and it was your images that pushed us into deciding to book Chef's Table. You can book Chef's Table on the Fantasy Class ships by emailing the Maitre'd (since there are no Steakhouses). We did this last week and received a response with confirmation the following morning. We included our names, dates of travel, cabin # and booking # and sent it to: pamaitred@carnival.com. Thank you again! We are looking forward to this experience a lot! :)
Foodie39 Posted March 30, 2011 #36 Share Posted March 30, 2011 We are sailing in May, and all we have signed up for is the steakhouse and the chef table! I can't wait! Does everyone at the chef table get a copy of the cookbook, or did you just get it for some other reason?
kicia Posted March 30, 2011 #37 Share Posted March 30, 2011 Several of us on the Magic in May have already made reservationsn for the Chef's Table. Just send an e-mail to drsteakhouse@carnival.com and the Steakhouse hostess on the Dream will make the reservation for the Magic since no one is on the Magic yet. Others received their confirmations within a couple of days but ours took five days. At least we have a printed confirmation.

FlaParrotHead Posted March 30, 2011 #39 Share Posted March 30, 2011 OK -- you've sold me. We are sailing her repo cruise LA to Tampa in Nov/Dec and I was just telling the DW about the chefs table the other night. Thanks for the great review and pictures. Jimmanknows Posted March 30, 2011 Author #42 Share Posted March 30, 2011 Does everyone at the chef table get a copy of the cookbook, or did you just get it for some other reason? We all got the cookbooks, one per couple and the table photos. Every person received a personalized menu too.
DEBnGAB Posted March 30, 2011 #43 Share Posted March 30, 2011 Thanks for the review! I was going to do the Captains Table on the Destiny in Sept, but after reading the reviews that the Destiny Captains Table fell a bit short, I think I will give it a try on the Paradise instead. plywood12 Posted April 1, 2011 #45 Share Posted April 1, 2011 My wife and I don't drink but we still found our experience on the Valor memorable and WELL worth the $75/pp. We have paid much more for much less at other restaurants.

Inklight Posted April 2, 2011 #47 Share Posted April 2, 2011 Does the Paradise also offer the Chef's Table on the 3 day cruise? That is a good question, I don't know. But, you could email the Maitre'd to request a reservation (that's what I did for the 4-day). They are quick to respond (I heard back by the next morning), so they would let you know if it wasn't possible. Here is the email: pamaitred@carnival.com.
