mithryl Posted March 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2011 In port from 2pm to 10pm. I see many restaurants in OSJ are breakfast/lunch only. Going to the forts from 2pm to 6pm. Where are some good dinner venues (preferrably Caribbean cuisine) in the area? Should we take a taxi to the resort area instead? Not interested in shows or over priced places...just good local food and drinks to enjoy and relax before returning to the ship. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 98Charlie Posted March 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2011 Carli's Bistro is within walking distance of the docks if you like good food mixed with jazz music. Trivia: Barrachina's is one of 2 places in San Juan that lays claim to the invention of the Piña Colada. The Caribe Hilton is the other. (Joan Crawford claimed that their Piña Coladas were "better than slapping Bette Davis in the face":p) Charlie
santa24 Posted March 16, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 16, 2011 Our cab driver recommended Raices on our first rip to San Juan. Great local food, we weren't disappointed. This last trip our local tour guide suggested The Parrot Club so we tried that and it was good too. We think Raices had more options of local food but would do either again. Both are within walking distance of the docks in OSJ.
