Dinner restaurants in OSJ

In port from 2pm to 10pm. I see many restaurants in OSJ are breakfast/lunch only. Going to the forts from 2pm to 6pm. Where are some good dinner venues (preferrably Caribbean cuisine) in the area? Should we take a taxi to the resort area instead? Not interested in shows or over priced places...just good local food and drinks to enjoy and relax before returning to the ship.

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We like Barrachina in OSJ on Calle Fortaleza. They claim to be the originator of the Pina Colada. I don't know if that's true, but their Pina Coladas are good, and so is their Mofongo. No show, but they do have a parrot or two.

Punta del Vista by the Sheraton OSJ and the bus terminal. Mofongo rellenos. Churrascos dinner --14oz steak for $14. Churrascoitos (tacos) with raspberry chipotle sauce and great fish/shrimp tacos too. Mojitos used to be buy 1 get 1 free all day. Local Medallion beer is a $1.50.

 

BTW, if you see an older guy in a jesters hat handing out maps of OSJ, that's the PDV's owner.
