LJRVancouver Posted March 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2011 Marina is scheduled to arrive at 6:00 am and we are hoping to catch the daily ferry to Sifnos which departs Piraeus at 7:30 am. Is this realistic ? - we are working with a greek travel agency & will be met at the ship & taken to ferry. As we are sailing in from Mykanos - will there still need to be official clearance of the ship? As we are sailing only from Mykanos will we be in port prior to 6:00 am or will we be limited to the slotted time? (several years ago on another O cruise we were scheduled to dock in Istanbul at 6:00am and were actually in port at 2 am). Thanks for any insight. Rare Hlitner Posted March 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2011 You would need to check directly with your cruise line as to the docking time question. But, assuming you are docked at 6am, even if you have to go through immigration clearance procedures it should still be fine. You would probably want to use the express disembarkation option (where you carry all your own luggage off the ship) so you can be among the first off the ship and do not have to waste time waiting or looking for luggage. Assuming that your ferry leaves from Pireaus, your ferry cannot be more then 5minutes from the cruise port (we can even walk around this harbor in about 30 min). LJRVancouver Posted March 14, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted March 14, 2011 Thanks Hank. Leaves me more reassured as DH quite concerned as it is huge port & his experience there 30 years ago was of complete & utter confusion.
