Seven Mile Beach

Planning to just go to Seven Mile Beach for a relaxing day while in G. Cayman. Are there enough chairs for those who do not book excursions, or will we be sitting in the sand? Also, does anyone know anything about Eden Rock?

We just got back from there. There are plenty of chairs but they are all property of the bars/rental companies on the beach. We had 2 chairs and an umbrella and it came to $20 from Calico Jacks. I'm sure there are better deals floating around but we were happy with the purchase.

Van service to the beach depends on which end of the beach your going to. It was $4-$5pp. We went to the $5 end, good sandy beach and went snorkelling about 20 feet out to see some Rays... no big reef, just a few rocks.

We took a cab to public beach where they have covered tables but no chaurs on the beach. A little further up the beach they had everything, chairs, food, water toys and crowds. We liked the beach at the park and just walked down the beach to snorkle or eat.

We snorkeled at Eden Rock and it was great. You turn right when you walk out of the tender terminal and it is a quick couple of minute walk up the street. You must rent life jackets at $5 each and you can also rent snorkel gear (we had our own so not sure how much). They also have lockers and a couple of chairs on a small beach for rent. There is a lot to see in the water there and I would highly recommend it. We then took the city bus to the public beach. We did not rent chairs and just sat in the sand but there are rentals available a bit up the beach (we preferred to sit in the sand with less people then have chairs in a crowd). It was a great day! Have fun! :D

From the research I have done the Bus Station is located adjacent to the Public Library on Edward Street. The buses that travel to 7 Mile Beach have a yellow sticker with WB1 on it or a lime green sticker WB2. It also noted that the bus license plates have white letters on a blue background.:)
