However, on the MSC Seashore, the Yacht Club pool deck has a minimal amount of shade, only a few cabanas - some are reserved for the upper suites, and it is often windy up there. There are a lot of loungers but they are almost all in the sun and often the cushions are wet since they do not remove them at night.
We usually walk to the Malecon. There is a well maintained shaded path until you get to the main road that takes you to the Malecon. From there it is a sunny walk. They have installed low concrete barriers on one side of the main road so walking and biking is safer. It’s a little over 2 mile walk and unless you are used to walking that distance in the heat, I don’t recommend it. There are a few small bars or shops along the shaded path but once you are on the main road there is nowhere to stop. Once you get to the lighthouse you still need to walk a distance along the Malecon to get to the beach clubs.
We were there at the end of June and it was very, very hot. For the first time, we took a taxi back.
We did the upgrade bid for Yacht Club and it was accepted. Currently we have the Easy Plus drink package. Will we get upgraded to the Premium drink package as well? It doesn’t really matter to us since we rarely drink mixed drinks but I was curious if we would keep our current package.
I found the answer in terms and conditions - we will get the premium drink package.
It is cheaper to book an umbrella pre cruise. There are several places to pick up the umbrella. If you are going to Bimini Beach there is a place right past the Yacht Club beach. We always return ours but some people just leave them there.
We are booked in a Fantastica balcony deck 10. We are typically in Aurea but my husband doesn’t care for the spa on the Seashore so it’s not really worth it to us. This will be our 4th time on the Seashore (last sailed in June). It is a move up bid.
I doubt we will get it but after this cruise we are taking a break from MSC.
We did not have a great experience on the Seashore in June. Just curious - I have read some negative reviews lately about Yacht Club. We do not care about having a butler. Even though we rarely use our balcony we almost always get one. I’m considering bidding on an inside Yacht Club cabin.
We aren’t willing to spring for a balcony in Yacht Club until we test the waters.
Anyone have any advice or opinions?
Celebrity can accommodate special needs. However, it is unrealistic to expect them to accommodate every special need. I worked with special needs kids and parents for years and am well versed in accommodations especially in regard to ADA. Doctor’s notes have become meaningless because people have abused and misused them. I’m hoping Celebrity can accommodate this woman’s request.
Thank you for all the information. We went ahead and booked the Suite guarantee. We are okay with whatever cabin we get assigned. As I get older I find myself much more willing to just go with the flow. Life has recently thrown our family a curveball and, believe me, that changed my outlook about what to get stressed about and what to let go. Which cabin we get is very low on the list on what’s important. I’m going to enjoy every aspect of The Retreat and, especially, the desserts in Luminae.
Thank you for all the input. jeylane- thank you for the warning about the noise. Luckily that isn’t an issue for us - my husband hears nothing without hearing aids and I’m not bothered by noise at night.
Good news buzz031. Thanks.
It is a new booking. I wanted to make sure I knew what I was booking and was
prepared for getting the lowest cabin in the category.
Are drinks and internet included in all the suite cabins?
