Bakerchief Posted March 16, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2011 Hi All, We're booked on the Adventure of the Seas out of Malaga 11/2/11 and staying onboard for the transatlantic 11/7. We plan on getting into Malaga 10/30 so will need hotel for 3 nights. Anyone recommend hotel close to town center and safe walking distance to restaurants, sightseeing, etc? TripAdvisor rates Barcelo Malaga number 1 and rates seem reasonable.
roswellcruiser Posted March 16, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2011 Several of us on the 11/7 transatlantic cruise are staying at the Molina Lario near the Cathedral. The hotel is not far from the Port and appears to be convenient and safe. Look forward to meeting you. Have you registered for the Meet and Mingle? cinnamon Posted March 16, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2011 We stayed one night at the Barcelo last year and liked it a lot. It was right over the main railway station, very useful for the new line right out of, or into, the airport and going out to 'the beaches'. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Also the HoHo has a stop right outside. The station has a 2 storey 'Mall' with lots of fast food restaurants, some bars and a couple of better restaurants. You could not hear the trains at all. However, it is not actually near the main centre of the City. It suited us fine but you may find something closer the to old town better for you. I do recommend the HoHo too. Martita B. Posted March 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2011 I can certainly recommend The Don Curro Hotel in Malaga. I've stayed here several times and will again revisit end of March. The location is in the heart of Old Town ~and their rates are most reasonable. Restaurants/shopping, all within a few blocks of the hotel.
