What does it take to create a group?

I have already booked my room and my buddy booked his room. Is it too late to create a group? If it requires 8 cabins/20 persons to create a group and I have 2 cabins and 4 people already then would people be able to just join in? I booked mine and his through the same PCC, she said she "linked" them to me. Does this mean I started a group? If so who else wants to join in to enable us to get the drink packages? We are cruising on the Pearl October 30th, 2011.

Linking the reservations together does not create a group. You need to hold eight cabins and book those cabins as a group. If you are already booked you can book the group and then pull your two cabins into the group to get credit. To get the drink package, you need to have 20 people and all twenty have to take the same drink package...

Actually it doesn't even take that, all it takes is telling the PCC you want to book a group, but you do have to give them an idea how many cabins and there are other restrictions. If you and your friends just keep booking and then decide you want it to be changed to a group that will not work. Call your PCC back, tell her/him you want to set up a group and you will need say, 10 cabins or whatever. There is some paper work to sign and some restrictions. I would talk to NCL before you decide to do this.

Mylesf has explained it better than I did I think.

Contact a travel agent as they can often get you better rates plus onboard credits or drink packages.
