YankeeClipper581 Posted March 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2011 I know that you are able to order from the MDR's dinner menu for room service, and I have seen on these boards that in order to do so, you must place your order early into service for that evening. But my question is, if you order off the MDR menu, and do so early into service, does that mean that you have to eat right away, or can you order early and request that your meal not be delivered until later in the evening? Or does the food just come out right away? Thanks.

JJPacer Posted March 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2011 You specify the time you would like the dinner to arrive at your cabin. On the Zuiderdam, room service could come 15 min. either side of the specified time. I imagine some ships are more precise on their time while others are a bit less punctual. So, be ready for it a little early. We enjoyed this perk very much on our last cruise. You can't beat sitting on your balcony enjoying the delicious dining room meal. :p
northernphoenix Posted March 17, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2011 Knowing this, and being in a deluxe suite, is it possible to place our dinner order thro the Neptune Lounge concierge in the A.M. and have the dinner arrive after our expected return, ie. around 7:30? I have a feeling that we will be "all in" after the first day of our tour with SPB; and dinner on the balcony might be just the ticket. thanks, Marilyn
