Day at the beach with a 1 and 4 yo

Looking to spend a day at the beach with my kids. Which beach do you all suggest? Food and drinks close by would be nice. What are cab fares like or are any in walking distance?

We have just taken a taxi to Sea Grape beach. It had a nice covered area as well as beach chairs, food and drink along 7 mile beach. I not sure what the cost of the taxi was but it wasnt very expensive and only a short drive less than 10 minutes.

So just tell the taxi driver Sea Grape Beach? Is that part of Seven Mile beach?

Yes, Sea Grape is part of Seven Mile Beach. Every taxi driver will know where you mean. :D

 

Sea Grape and Tiki Beach seem to be the most popular destinations along SMB for cruise ship excursions, so they may be a bit crowded if there's an excursion there. Royal Palms is another area of SMB that doesn't seem to end up with excursions, and is a very nice spot with good food/drinks, restrooms and showers, rental stuff, etc.
