Fatima from Lisbon

Recommended Posts

I will be in Lisbon to embark my next cruise and plan to arrive a day early and would love to visit Fatima. Does anyone have a recommendation on a private tour/cab or the best way to do so?

Thanks, Charlotte

We would simply rent a car. It is about a 1 1/2 hour drive each way from Lisbon. There are also some local group tours that can be booked via your hotel of directly on line. As an example Gray Lines runs several different day-trip tours from Lisbon (some include other places). Here is a link if you want to look at the tour offerings:

Actually Fatima is quite far from Lisbon. A 2 hour drive (at least) from Lisbon is needed to get to Fatima. But Fatima is well worth a visit! The Catholic site (don't remeber the name) that Fatima is famous for is really an eye-opener. If you have more time at Lisbon I suggest the town of Sintra, which there is a palace that's worth visiting and the Westernmost point of continental Europe is not far from Sintra. Sintra is about 45 minutes from Lisbon.
