Cabin Assignment

Quick question. We chose the option of letting Carnival assign us to a Balcony Cabin. Usually this is done within one week of the Cruise. It saved us alot of money going this route. What have been your experiences when doing this ??? (hopefully not to bad :)) Oh - and we will be on the Destiny.

Why do you think its done within one week of sailing?? Maybe you meant in a generic sense, can be done a lot earlier??

 

There is a thread how did you do with pack n go assignments, basically the same thing, what did you get assigned.

 

Iv gotten on the bottom 2 decks, my last two gtys.

Thats what I was told by my TA - She also said it could be done right up until the day you Sail. No biggie, just hoping we get a decent room ...;)

All rooms are decent! You'll just have to be prepared to take the lowest cabin that you paid for, and be surprised if it is upgraded.

 

I always book gty, however, this time I booked early saver and chose my porthole cabin for less than a regular inside.

In my experience, cabins are assigned long before the sail date (sometimes shortly after you book), they just don't inform you of the cabin until closer to sail date.

I have gotten a cabin assignment as early as 71 days out and as late as 4 days out. Some folks don't get their cabin assigned until check in at the cruise terminal!

Just got my cabin assigned today. Picked a pack-n-go rate, so I could have gotten any category of balcony. I got mid-ship on the deck I wanted, so it was perfect!!

See, sounds like a great cabin since its what you wanted. All my cabins except maybe one or two, were just great by me. I love gtys. Its like waiting for Christmas.
