Police dogs @ miami port

I don't remember what port it was, but one year there were 2 dogs walking up and down the lines of passengers waiting in line to get out of the terminal. They were very busy sniffing and found a fresh flower arrangement in some lady's bags. It was entertaining to watch the dog go nuts (glad it wasn't my bag).

Sometimes there are dogs at the ports and sometimes there are none. Most times they do not come near passengers, just sniffing luggage.

 

This has been my experience. The only dogs that I have seen were with Customs in Miami. I walked pass the dog who was like 6 feet away from me.

Boarding in Long Beach earlier this month there were several police dogs in the passenger check-in and boarding lounge areas, mostly checking carry-on bags. One was a beautiful Redbone that I was afraid my wife was going to try to make friends with...
