COPZWIFE Posted March 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2011 Will the dining room be able to seat a group of 10 together that are signed up for anytime dining? ( do our reservations need to be linked?..our reservations are not linked..didn't think they needed to be b/c of the "anytime" feature) And if so, whats the approximate wait time? We are sailing on the Fantasy in June to Bermuda. Thanks in advance!
firefly333 Posted March 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2011 Well, if you dont make a reservation, it could take quite a while to seat such a large party together if thats what you want. Maybe you could split up if its a problem once in a while?
Rosefloater Posted March 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2011 ATD works better with smaller groups. If you get there right when the doors open, you might snag 1 of the large tables of 10. Otherwise, be prepared to be split up. You might be able to seated at smaller tables that are next to each other. You can't make reservations as Firefly suggested. The whole party has to be there at the same time. Your reservations only need to be linked if you want to be seated at the Early or Late seating. *Mach* Posted March 26, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2011 From Carnival regarding large groups and YTD... Since most tables are configured for parties up to 6 guests and many cannot be moved together to make larger tables, parties greater than 8 guests may need to be accommodated at several tables and the wait can sometimes be more than one hour. It is important to advise accordingly as to manage expectations and avoid disappointment once on board. We highly suggest that parties of 8 or more guests choose the traditional assigned seating (6:00pm or 8:15pm) to assure sitting together at one table or several tables close together. :)
mississauga Posted March 26, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2011 I have seen groups of 11 and 12 seated together with no problems. On the Liberty in 2009, a family of 11 sat together every night. They usually came in around 6:30. Don't know if there was a wait time while the table was set up for them but they were seated at the same table ( tables put together ) every night. Just this February on the Glory, saw a table of 12 seated together. Saw this each night when we were leaving the dining room about 7:30. They were already seated so don't know when they came in but again, always seated at the same tables put together. It appeared to me that it was pre-arranged and they were expected each night.:)
Lady_Jag Posted March 26, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 26, 2011 I don't think they have tables for more than 10 on Fantasy class ships. Last year on the Inspiration, we were a party of 16 with confirmed early dining, and they broke us up into a table of 10 and a table of 6. The crazy thing was, they put the parents of one of the kids at the table for 10, and then stuck their son at the table for 6 with people he didn't really know. We asked about it and were told that that arrangement was the best they could do because there were no larger tables, and the reason why they put the kid at a different table than his parents was because they assumed everyone in our group of 16 was family (even though not everyone's bookings were linked together). We did manage to work it out on our own with some creative shuffling, but I am glad we didn't pick that cruise to try Your Time Dining!

PA Dutchman Posted March 27, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 27, 2011 With that many people there is always a problem. ATD is in the upper area of the MDR and most of the tables are at the back and for 8. Depends what time you get there and if the tables are already taken. You will waite till somebody leaves or use 2 or 3 tables near each other. You will go thru that every night. Large groups were our entertainment on the Valor last time, nobody was happy.
