How to get from Skagen, Denmark to Grenen, Denmark?

My mom, dad and sister are going on a cruise this summer that stops in Skagen, Denmark. They would like to also visit Grenen, Denmark and were wondering if there was an easy way to get there.

 

Also, they have heard that in Grenen there is a tractor pulled bus that takes you to the point where two seas meet. Do you know if the tractor pulled bus runs in June? If yes, do you know the cost or the times of day it runs? Thanks for your help.

Yes the tractor bus is called Sandormen or the Sand worm.

 

The price for one trip is 25 DKK and the bus departs from the parking lot :p

 

I´m guessing that the locals know witch parking lot there is in question.

Thanks for the information. Is there a train or bus from Skagen to Grenen? Could my family take a taxi?

Grenen is located just north of Skagen so there is no need to travel outside of Skagen to reach Grenen.

From Skagen to the parking lot on Grenen it is 3.5 km. There is a normal bus doing the trip to the Grenen parking lot. From the Grenen parking lot, you can either walk or take the tractor-pulled bus. The walking distance from the parking lot to the tip of Grenen is 2 km, partly dirt road, partly sand and absolutely doable; actually, if you are able bodied, it feels a bit of a waste of money to take the tractor bus, but you can do it for the fun of it! On Google Earth, you can easily see the harbor, the parking lot at the end of Fyrvej, where there are two small museums and a big restaurant/cafeteria, and of course the tip, Grenen, which actually is not exactly the northernmost point since it bends to the east.

Silly me, i thought that it was a parking lot in Skagen and not at Grenen but Sandormens website is down because of maintenance so it was hard for me to search the info.

The only bus I can find is route 99 and its only running from the 26th of June to 7th of August.

The bus fare is 22 DKK for a one-way ticket. You can only pay with cash and the bus is departing from the railway station.
