Carnival Valor to Operate Series of Six- and Eight-Day Caribbean Cruises From Miami in 2012

Building upon its distinction as the Caribbean cruise leader, Carnival Cruise Lines will introduce a series of six- and eight-day voyages from Miami aboard the 2,974-passenger Carnival Valor operating mid-January through October 2012.

 

Carnival Valor’s six- and eight-day departures provide consumers with new itineraries featuring unique combinations of Caribbean destinations and opportunities to visit islands that are typically not featured on longer length cruises from Florida.

 

Six-day cruises depart on Sunday and return the following Saturday, while the eight-day cruises depart on Saturday and return the following Sunday.

 

The value-packed six-day cruises will call at Key West, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios, departing once every two weeks beginning Jan. 15, 2012.

 

Three different four-port, eight-day cruise itineraries will be offered on a rotating basis from Jan. 21 through Oct. 27, 2012. The itineraries include:

• Eastern/western Caribbean cruises calling at Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios, Grand Turk and Nassau
  
• Eastern Caribbean cruises featuring stops at St. Thomas, Antigua, Tortola and Nassau
  
• Eastern/southern Caribbean cruises to Grand Turk, La Romana (Dominican Republic), Curacao and Aruba
  

Between now and December 2011, Carnival Valor will operate its popular seven-day voyages which depart Sundays from Miami, alternating to the eastern and western Caribbean.

 

Carnival Valor is one of 19 Carnival Cruise Lines’ ships that call at Caribbean destinations on a year-round or seasonal basis. Carnival carries over 3.3 million guests on Caribbean cruises annually, the most of any cruise operator.

 

The line will expand its Caribbean offerings in November when the new Carnival Magic launches seven-day eastern and western Caribbean cruises from Galveston, becoming the port’s largest year-round ship.

This will make 3 ships that will be calling on Aruba, Grand Turk, La Romana (Dominican Republic) and Curacao: Miracle, Freedom and now Valor.

Wasn't all that impressed with La Romana so kind of surprised another ship will be stopping there.

Not to mention that La Romana is owned by Carnival and you have to use your Sail & Sign card except at the little stores. You need to book an Excursion to go see the real Dominican Republic. Also be aware that in Aruba, if you stop there on a Sunday, the stores close @ 2pm and we were there until 10pm. I was not impressed at all. In Aruba it was there Mardi Gras and it got cancelled and all the stores were closed. Even restaurants. About the only thing ope was the Casino. I got back on board very early.
