We will be going to Orient beach while in St.Martin/Maarten in November on the AOS and am wondering what beach along Orient was your favorite for the best beach, scenery, restaurant w/good food selection and of course a good beach bar to take it all in. There are to many to choose from and looking for opinions. There will be Adults only in our group and are looking for the most fun in the sun hot spot, your opinions would be helpful.. So fire away

Someone mention Coco Beach. But Bobby says he goes to the one on the left, whatever that means. He said he would recognize it when we get there.

I would love to hear everyone's opinions though.

Orient beach is nice can be very crowded there is a place to eat an outdoor bar you can eat, mind you there will be topless/nude people eating at the bar - if you can get past that. There are kids at these beaches but not a lot and most of them are at nude part of the beach and not the topless part. I think we rented a waverunner there.

REnt a jeep and just go everywhere. Orient can be difficult to find, doesn't look like it would be from the map but I remember last time we were there we drove past it 1-2 times before we remembered that was the road to take.

Happy Sailing

There are many good bars along Orient form Club Orient to BooBooJam.

We prefer CoCo Beach. It is less crowded, has the widest beach and has great service and food (the friut platter is great as well as the pizza). Also all of the watersports are right there.

Another great place to eat and set up is Baywatch. It's near Club Orient. It's a little more crowded at this end and depending on the day the beach could be non-existent. However, it is a great place to eat and people watch(we take the walk from CoCo). It is owned by Cheryl and Andy who formerly owned a steakhouse in NJ, hence all of the New Jersey road signs. They are great hosts. The food is great, especially the mussels a la Andy (they fly them in fresh from France on Thursdays. You may see some nude people eating and drinking there, however, this is quickly becoming a Orient "institution".

PS. Try a bottle of French Rose with lunch and don't forget to have a shot of complimentary flavored rum (MaDouDou) after lunch.

We've gone to both Boo Boo Jam and Kakao beach restuarants on Orient Beach. Kakao was a little "neater" looking but more crowded. Boo Boo Jam is a little more removed from the other places. Both had great drionks and great fresh seafood for lunch!

  • 6 years later...

We go to Kakao. Have never had anything but a great time. If you stop by tell Cedric (the waiter from France) that the folks from Kansas sent their greetings. My wife loves the woman who does massages at Kakao and the bartender has assured me I am climbing the list to take his job. Regrettably he has been there for 10 years. But one has to dream.
