we have just be allocated this cabin on our upcoming cruise... i notice we are just beneath the buffet restaurant, is it likely to be noisy??? anyone stayed in this cabin???

a friend stayed in a260, and said there was some noise from above, but not too much to cause a nuisance.:)

I had a cabin under the Plaza buffet area on Oceana. There was no noticable noise from above in excess of what you would normally get from being under someone else's cabin.

I've had A307 - an inside, under the pennant grill/bar - there was some late night noise from chairs being moved about (about 12 pm on a couple of evenings) - can't remember the mornings, so probably not an issue. At that time (2008) the deck parties (including the 'hoedown') were on the stern & we all got notes saying there might be some noise on those nights - it wasnt so bad; Since then, when we've been on board, the deck parties have been in the Riviera pool area.

 

Over Christmas we had A295(? I think:D) - which was under the very front of the pennant bar or back of the buffet - & I don't remember any noise at all. We had reports from others on our dining table, of lots of noise under the pool areas (i.e. midships on A deck)- to do with the putting out in the morning and later collection of the sunbeds they thought.

 

You will hear the sailaway parties though - they will be outside your window:D.

 

Being at the stern, you have immediate access to the outside which is great.
